So most generally what you must be careful about fighting with line infantries is that you need a large space to scatter your infantry, for that they may fire all their muskets. Otherwise they would only be using their like, one twentieth force, where twenty can be replaced by the ranks and units you pile right after another.

Land Battle Guide For Napoleon Total War Section Two

Now we got how to fight with line infantries, let us continue with quick summary of what it was. We need large space in order to scatter our infantry so that they can fire all their muskets and make effective attack. So we are going to be careful about not fighting in areas with lots of cliffs, or river crossings and such. Line infantries might aswell be infantry still but way different than how they are commanded, than light infantries. So let us see how you should fight with an army that consists of twenty units of light infantry, which are also called, skirmishers.

Many people lack the ability of seeing how light infantries are useful. Some use them in skirmishing ways, some use them in flanking. However, light infantries are not only good in those, but it can be said, anything as long as it is firing they do, not fighting close, knee to knee. So, just like line infantries, you still do need large space to manoeuvre light infantries. And keeping in mind that we used to need large space for line infantries in order to scatter them well enough to let them use all their muskets, as light infantries are, in any means, extreme musketeers, we need even more space. Light infantries have a couple of options in their panel. You could use square formation for line infantries, however you need to know what light infantries do exactly, so that you may be able to use them with full efficiency. There is this, light infantry behaviour button, which makes your skirmishers get in loose formation and crouch a bit. This is the main tactic of fighting with light infantries. Because this ability, grants cover from missile attacks in any way. You do not need to stay behind things to cover, but your infantry can crouch! They also scatter around to decrease the incoming fire efficiency. This means what? This means that we need even MORE space. This means we will not even be able to use light infantry in defence of cities. Because tight corridors, close range shooting, these are factors who contributes to making avoiding a melee fight harder.

There is another ability, which is also useful of course, and can be used both in city defences, or land battles. The skirmishers can deploy stakes so that they can block incoming cavalry charge. This, tactic of deploying stakes, prevents the 90% of the cavalry from breaking through and reaching the skirmishers. So it is a good way to make the enemy cavalry crush into these stakes, to kill them. However, you need some time to deploy these stakes, set them on the ground. Some time and free space to do it. Also that yo can only do it once in every battle which means you have to be careful where you use it. Accordingly, we have learned that we should not be picking cliff regions or river crossings or letting our skirmishers stay in cities to defend in case any enemy force besieges the city. They are skirmishers after all. They need to fire, and retreat, keep the distance. They have longer range, so practically, they can kill all the enemy without getting hurt. Use them well.

Land Battle Guide For Napoleon Total War Section Three

In the last two section we have learned how to use light infantries and line infantries. Let us summarize the quick rules before we continue our guiding. We need large space for line infantries, and even larger space for light infantries. We need to be careful about where we deploy our stakes with our skirmishers because we are able to deploy them once every battle. And also that we should avoid the battle areas where it is hard to manoeuvre our troops. So we come to the last type of infantry units. Which are the elite infantries. These units have much of over time qualities rather than direct battle abilities. They act like elite line infantries and to put it bluntly, they are better line infantries than random line infantries. However, there are of course some abilities that they can use.

First of all, elite infantries are the units that you can rely on in both campaign maps or battle itself. So, assuming you have full elite infantry unit army in your hand, you should not try to pick hard places where the opposing force or your own force might suffer attrition. Because elite infantries do NOT suffer attrition in any circumstances. So the first rule to keep in mind that, if the enemy has not any elite infantry or local infantry. It is really a good idea to drag them into places such as deserts or mountains or swamps where you can make them die even without fighting. However, when you need to fight, you should be picking places that you are able to use your musketeers, just like the tactics of line infantry. However, because these are in melee fighting way, better infantry, you need not to be that careful about it. Even that, most line infantries and elite infantries, have the same guns in their hands, makes the both sides able to fire with almost same efficiency. So it might actually be good idea to lure them into short range where you can charge with your bayonets. So, you can show how “superior” your forces are. However, be careful to not to do this on melee infantry of the enemy. Even these types are rarely confronted, they might still be dangerous if taken lightly.

There is also something called fire and advance drill available for these elite infantrymen. When using this drill, as the name indicates so, your units fire and advance. However, this is not as useful as it sounds, which is like the one in cossacks, where you click to the button, and a certain location, and is go and attack everybody on the way. In this drill, they fire in one rank, then the other rank gets right in front of them, and fires their salvo. Then after them, the other rank comes to their protection and fires a new salvo. With this drill, your unit gets closer real slow, but keeps up a continuous barrage of fire on the enemy ranks. So it is less likely that they recover from this attack as in morale.

In previous three sections we have learned how to use any type of infantrymen in good way and efficiently. Now any other player or especially the artificial intelligence shall fear our tactics and strength that we field on battle! Let us do a quick remainder about the tactics for each type of infantry. Well line infantry are the most basic style of infantry which you only need to ensure that they lesser ranks in order to get full salvo from more of their units, for that you need space. Light infantry, which are also called as our skirmishers are extreme gunmen, for what which you need to make sure that they do have even more space than the line infantry units. They may go from way ahead of the line infantries, attack from far range than the enemy forces, and retreat, harming them this way. Or could actually deploy stakes and behave as real light infantry where they defend against bullets to a matrix degree, and prevent any cavalrymen from charging them directly. And the elite infantries can also be called elite line infantries which for you can kill the enemy with attrition without fighting them, and use your fire and advance drill, or even maybe luring them into close range, if you have superior melee abilities of course, and attack them in melee. Missile cavalry in Napoleonic Total War are actually able to fire when on move. This is an addition which is quite realistic, and also not so like what things were in Empire Total War, where all the missile cavalry needed to stop by, pick targets to shoot. That was quite stupid since a gun can even be fired accidentally on horseback, how come they are not able to fire? However, in Napoleon Total War, they are able to fire, but only in a slower rate, and they have less chances of hitting the target, therefore they have their precision and accuracy lowered. Considering that it require intense skill to be firing a musket that hits the target all the time, this too, is quite realistic. And also that, as all muskets present are muzzle loading muskets that require a new bullet to be inserted and gunpowder pressed on it again, it should take considerable time to reload these muskets. And when you are on horseback, which does not let you set your arm high stable enough to press the gunpowder, it should take even more time. Which evens the things out for missile cavalry.

If only missile cavalry had longer range i wish. That way, they would be intensively accurate units on land battles. With their even range compared to other line infantries, the only tactic you can do with them about shooting on horseback is that of, wandering close around the enemy at all times. And when they are confused, most likely reforming their ranks or moving from right to left or something like that, you should close up and deliver your deadly salvo on them.

Harry Potter Sorcerer’s Stone the Game

Harry Potter now might not be considered as a children movie now, however, it really were. At least, back in time when the actors and all the topic going on around were only children! It was, a movie of introduction to the magical world in Rowling’s mind. Everything was in the way to make people say, “oh my god how beautiful it is, i wish i were there”. Therefore, it was a great way to impress children and make them happy. Therefore, most parents took their children to cinemas for this movie. Consequently, cinemas, filling up with this rabble of children just in the time when Harry Potter was going to be shown, turned the movie into the children’s movie. Though, those children, who was taken to the movies, along with the actors, now grew up. And became today’s teenagers and youngsters. Even some, adults. However, old films and old games are not yet to be forgotten!

You may or you may not know that there is a computer game for every single movie of Harry Potter. Also there are some for specific things in Harry Potter, such as quidditch world cup. Which means that there was, actually a game for Sorcerer’s Stone part of the saga too! You might have grown up, but they sure did not update the game or made a new one. So the game, is still for children, it can be said. However we should not judge harshly because remember, you were children at a time too, and you were enjoying those games! The game, is more into the book than to the movie. Which, in most ways good because the movie was actually short. There were no duel with Malfoy. Draco Malfoy, that is of course. Even that, we are only throwing explosive jelly beans on each other in the duel, it is still fun. And in some way, it might be considered as it is what it must be. Because, it is a children’s game after all. And the in character actors should not know any harmful spells at first class anyway. So, the game producers thought it was a better idea to make Harry throw exploding Jelly Beans rather than putting a hundred hole in Malfoy’s body with a machine gun. So, something with level of violence is zero, supposedly shall prove way better. However, there are extraordinary perils awaiting for harry, which is given the impression as its something quite normal. Interesting creatures keep attacking us and we know only few, or to be more precise, just one, to fend them off. The other part is about solving paradoxes. Which button should we press in order to open the door? Which block of stone should we use our spell which probably you all would remember from the book, Wingardium Leviosa, to levitate, in order to get the bridge set, for us to pass?

Even that it is more oriented on the book, there are of course things beyond it either. However, we should excuse it because if they made everything just like in the book, there would be nothing to play. Instead, we are to do things on our own in an adventure, guiding harry from one fight to another and reaching the goals. This way, we are the one who actually earns the school cup of the year. That of course, goes to Gryffindor!

Melee Fighting in Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls

In all those various RPG games on publish, the fighting system is always the way that you select a move or spell or an ability, and select a target, of course you must have a chgaracter selected which will do the action, and let it do the thing you order him. But it is not like that in Oblivion IV Elder Scrolls. It is way more different because it is like FPS. But it can also be viewed in 3rd person. So it may aswell be called TPS. But it is most concordantly called a RPG game. Since it is proved , that it is one of the most beautiful and draggin grpg games that the gaming history have ever seen. But what are advantages and disadvantages of making melee moves in such fashion? Is it better or worse? Why should we chose between them? If it good why did not any other company think of it to add to their games?

As this is most contraventional issue on RPG games which mention Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls, i am going to point out my own ideas about it. Well, first of all let us take the advantages. Are we not already bored of the stupid stats who determine EVERYTHING of our character? Even to that how much we hit and how much damage we do. It is also given to the strikes of luck, when calculating these. Classic dungeons and dragons or other fantasy role playing game fashion. But why so? Why can we not play it in our own way? What if i want my character to swing his sword when jumping on the enemy? Of course there are such moves but those moves are required to be taken by our skill or feat points for us to be able to use them. Well i would say this sucks. We should surely be able to strike our own sword or whatever weapon we are holding. We should make strange swings and odd moves in order to defend ourselves. Not getting uber super items and leaving the character to deal with any upcoming enemy by itself.

However the way it is bad is that it is very likely to encounter any bug happening. And abuse, by players and as well as the mobs. Because there is actually a stat called speed. With this speed thing, the mobs, also the player can run very fast. Faster than the others. So being faster than the others might grant us the godly ability in such games where magic is not target selected, of kiting. Yes you can kite the enemy as much as you want as long as you want. You might hit and run. You might close up and attack when he is not able to attack. This may happen in real battles too but not in such great scales.

So accordingly these are some of the advantage sand disadvantages of the melee fighting motor of the game Oblivion IV Elder Scrolls. You really should try the game for who knows that maybe this way of melee fights is what you actually would like to play as. You can select any type of melee class or you can create your own class if you want also magic or stealth with melee abilities who focus on durability and endurance most of the time. Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls, Mages Guild Quest Line

Mages Guild quests are actually odd. It starts off in an epic way, especially the ones which Chorrol mages guild give. However ends such lame. Let us see throigh it how it starts and how it ends. First of all, you are sent to some mountain shrine in order to return a book with intense value. Well you do so, and you are actually able to deliver it to someone else outside the mages guild in Chorrol. You may or may not do this. After you join the mages guild. The first quests are all about sending you on errands. I do not understand why it always has to be errand quests. Why it is the mages who should mess with parasites of a place? We bring evil wizards to justice, and make the magical rules apply in all of tamriel, we should not be messing with other people’s errands. Whatever, we sooner or later start dealing with Necromancy users.

In Tamriel, after the emergance of this new so called Archmage, necromancy is banned from all the Tamriel provinces. And its usage considered a crime. Both its usage and its practise in fact. You are guilty even if you try reading a book of necromancy. What kind of stupid mind blocking is this. Whatsoever, the whole mages guild campaign is based on fighting the members of secret necromancy guilds. Who tend to kill the mages guild members systemically or randomly. Well, as i said, we start with stupid errand quests at start. Then we catch signs of necromancy being applied around. Then we start gathering clues about it. When we finally find a great host of necromancers and eradicate all of them, destroy them utterly with our fury. We are at last, only after to gain all the references from all the mages guilds around Tamriel, found to be worthy of entering the Arcane University. We do intense load of errand quests in order to persuade the mages guild heads to vouch for us. We gather rings from damn wells, we remove a mages guild head from the guild, we find a lost necklace for another one. You name it, this is countless. So when we finally get in the arcane university, doing everything necessary with all our rush of excitement. We find nothing. Well just a circle with a tower in it. Everyone seems to be walking around. I didn’t even get where do they give or take lessons. However, it is now that you start getting ranks in the guild. You receive quests from the assistants of headmaster of arcane university. You get few ranks, like adept, magician and such. You are gifted in some items, robes, staves etc. Then you start getting quests from the archmage himself. When the thing is close to end. We start hearing about some dude called Mannimarco. Well, of course our guildmaster is so scared off that he cannot dare to fight he guy his own, so he commits suicide and sends us instead. We go kill him and become the new archmage. Therefore the questline ends here.

Spellcasting in Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls

The good thing in Oblivion, Elder scrolls is that almost every class is able to do some magic. There are many different types of magic in Elder Scrolls, however you need to have certain skills with them in order to use them. The skills grow as you use that particular skill, so if you fight with your sword, you tend to fight with your sword for the rest of the game. However, whenever you want to change your fighting style, you are free and even in some manners, encouraged to do so! The easiest spells that you can do are the ones who costs least and your skill advances faster from lowest skill levels. However, as your skill gets high, it becomes harder and harder to gain any skill. This is of course most commonly applied for melee fighting skills such as blunt, blade, hand to hand, block and such. For spells, you are given the chance to use better spells, which make you advance in the skill line with bigger jumps.

Spell casting in Oblivion can be considered, good or bad when thought of different sides of it. It is not like the same way people cast spells in various games. Standing in one place, saying magical words, taking some time preparing the spell cast, and finally letting it go. Any type of spell is cast instantly in Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls. You just need like, one or two seconds to cast a spell, since all you do is making some glow in your hand and throw it forward. Even though i am contend with either way of casting these spells, some people have certain ideas about it. Most people, especially those who tend to play the game for its fantasy role playing possibilities, think that this kind of spell casting is extremely unrealistic and unnerving. As it would look silly for someone to cast spells without vocal components, or the proper talents for casting it silently. Even if he had the talent, excluding the fact that even a warrior who have not seen magic in his entire life can cast it that way, he would need some time to focus on the spell he or she is casting, and prepare it before releasing it. Otherwise, without proper preparation, the spell would either be failure or without any effect. Since spells are cast by the force of will, concentration is the most important thing, that is why you also need to stand right where you are and do not move until you cast the spells. Most unlikely, even the mobs we encounter in the Oblivion IV Elder Scrolls tend to kite us, if we happen to be melee fighting classes. They run back and send fire balls, frost bolts or lightning bolts on us, trying to keep the range. This is so stupid and annoying as it gets even harder to hit them, given the current circumstances are already impairing our chances.

Maybe the most realistic part in spellcasting of Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls, is that the spells we cast are not that smart to follow the target we meant for them. In most other games, it does not matter if the target moves after you cast the spell. Or even that if the target is moving while you cast the spell. You just need to face the right way in one hundred and eighty degrees, and the spell you cast will be automatically send to the target of yours. Maybe it is because of that Oblivion is not a third person combat strategy game that works in selecting abilities and which targets to use those abilities we have chosen.

Oblivion Dark Brotherhood Quests Second Part

You are the assassin there. And you need to kill each of them without the other noticing it. Well the house is quite big enough for you to do it so there is not generally any problem.

Considering the fact that one cannot guess who actually killed the person behind him, when there are only us, standing right next to him with a dagger in our hand. But like every game, Oblivion also has some mistakes. After some time, we meet with Dark Brotherhood sanctuary in Cheydinhal. This place’s entrance is quite terrific either. However, the atmosphere is not the same inside. Anyway, we start to receive quests from not Lucian any more but instead, from the members of the Cheydinhal sanctuary. Unfortunately, it is somehow discovered by Lucian that the sanctuary holds a spy in it. So we have to commence a ritual of purification. Which means we need to kill everyone in the sanctuary. After doing so, we become Lucian’s silencer. He tells about the listener and speakers. Now a harder set of orders start. Lucian leaves notes in various places in the world and sends us to kill people. However, the great treachery is yet to come. It turns out that, we failed to eradicate the spy which looked as if he were one of the members of Cheydinhal sanctuary. And that clever member, has been changing our written orders, right before we take it. So we were actually killing the allies of the brotherhood. Lucian summons us, however we find his body, torn apart by speakers. Then we head to the lady to select her new listener. She says that one of the current speakers is a traitor. We kill him, and become the new listener. Quest line ends.

Now is it not awesome? After we become the new listener, we are dispatched immediately to Cheydinhal sanctuary, to be its new master. And we pick someone to be our speaker. From that point on our only concern is to visit the lady once a week and get reports of new targets. We tell them to our speaker, and we are done. It is although surprising that the fact we are doing actually way less job than the last listener, Lucian Lachance used to. However, we are just contend with that because we earn quite nice money from it without actually doing anything. As time recedes and we give new targets to our speaker, we may observe new members of the brotherhood, walking around in the sanctuary. This means that we are going to get more money on next delivery. Of course, it is good eh? So ends the quest line of Dark Brotherhood. Even that other quest lines, in my opinion, excluding the main quest, are good, the Dark Brotherhood gives a new perspective to the players of the game. And actually inspires us to be cutthroats and damned rogues! In the game of course heh! I really advise the quest line to all of the readers. Even further, i advise the whole quests of the game to the readers. It is, really a game that must be played, with all its quests.
