Melee Fighting in Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls

In all those various RPG games on publish, the fighting system is always the way that you select a move or spell or an ability, and select a target, of course you must have a chgaracter selected which will do the action, and let it do the thing you order him. But it is not like that in Oblivion IV Elder Scrolls. It is way more different because it is like FPS. But it can also be viewed in 3rd person. So it may aswell be called TPS. But it is most concordantly called a RPG game. Since it is proved , that it is one of the most beautiful and draggin grpg games that the gaming history have ever seen. But what are advantages and disadvantages of making melee moves in such fashion? Is it better or worse? Why should we chose between them? If it good why did not any other company think of it to add to their games?

As this is most contraventional issue on RPG games which mention Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls, i am going to point out my own ideas about it. Well, first of all let us take the advantages. Are we not already bored of the stupid stats who determine EVERYTHING of our character? Even to that how much we hit and how much damage we do. It is also given to the strikes of luck, when calculating these. Classic dungeons and dragons or other fantasy role playing game fashion. But why so? Why can we not play it in our own way? What if i want my character to swing his sword when jumping on the enemy? Of course there are such moves but those moves are required to be taken by our skill or feat points for us to be able to use them. Well i would say this sucks. We should surely be able to strike our own sword or whatever weapon we are holding. We should make strange swings and odd moves in order to defend ourselves. Not getting uber super items and leaving the character to deal with any upcoming enemy by itself.

However the way it is bad is that it is very likely to encounter any bug happening. And abuse, by players and as well as the mobs. Because there is actually a stat called speed. With this speed thing, the mobs, also the player can run very fast. Faster than the others. So being faster than the others might grant us the godly ability in such games where magic is not target selected, of kiting. Yes you can kite the enemy as much as you want as long as you want. You might hit and run. You might close up and attack when he is not able to attack. This may happen in real battles too but not in such great scales.

So accordingly these are some of the advantage sand disadvantages of the melee fighting motor of the game Oblivion IV Elder Scrolls. You really should try the game for who knows that maybe this way of melee fights is what you actually would like to play as. You can select any type of melee class or you can create your own class if you want also magic or stealth with melee abilities who focus on durability and endurance most of the time. So best of luck in your Oblivion experience!

Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls, Mages Guild Quest Line

Mages Guild quests are actually odd. It starts off in an epic way, especially the ones which Chorrol mages guild give. However ends such lame. Let us see throigh it how it starts and how it ends. First of all, you are sent to some mountain shrine in order to return a book with intense value. Well you do so, and you are actually able to deliver it to someone else outside the mages guild in Chorrol. You may or may not do this. After you join the mages guild. The first quests are all about sending you on errands. I do not understand why it always has to be errand quests. Why it is the mages who should mess with parasites of a place? We bring evil wizards to justice, and make the magical rules apply in all of tamriel, we should not be messing with other people’s errands. Whatever, we sooner or later start dealing with Necromancy users.

In Tamriel, after the emergance of this new so called Archmage, necromancy is banned from all the Tamriel provinces. And its usage considered a crime. Both its usage and its practise in fact. You are guilty even if you try reading a book of necromancy. What kind of stupid mind blocking is this. Whatsoever, the whole mages guild campaign is based on fighting the members of secret necromancy guilds. Who tend to kill the mages guild members systemically or randomly. Well, as i said, we start with stupid errand quests at start. Then we catch signs of necromancy being applied around. Then we start gathering clues about it. When we finally find a great host of necromancers and eradicate all of them, destroy them utterly with our fury. We are at last, only after to gain all the references from all the mages guilds around Tamriel, found to be worthy of entering the Arcane University. We do intense load of errand quests in order to persuade the mages guild heads to vouch for us. We gather rings from damn wells, we remove a mages guild head from the guild, we find a lost necklace for another one. You name it, this is countless. So when we finally get in the arcane university, doing everything necessary with all our rush of excitement. We find nothing. Well just a circle with a tower in it. Everyone seems to be walking around. I didn’t even get where do they give or take lessons. However, it is now that you start getting ranks in the guild. You receive quests from the assistants of headmaster of arcane university. You get few ranks, like adept, magician and such. You are gifted in some items, robes, staves etc. Then you start getting quests from the archmage himself. When the thing is close to end. We start hearing about some dude called Mannimarco. Well, of course our guildmaster is so scared off that he cannot dare to fight he guy his own, so he commits suicide and sends us instead. We go kill him and become the new archmage. Therefore the questline ends here.

Spellcasting in Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls

The good thing in Oblivion, Elder scrolls is that almost every class is able to do some magic. There are many different types of magic in Elder Scrolls, however you need to have certain skills with them in order to use them. The skills grow as you use that particular skill, so if you fight with your sword, you tend to fight with your sword for the rest of the game. However, whenever you want to change your fighting style, you are free and even in some manners, encouraged to do so! The easiest spells that you can do are the ones who costs least and your skill advances faster from lowest skill levels. However, as your skill gets high, it becomes harder and harder to gain any skill. This is of course most commonly applied for melee fighting skills such as blunt, blade, hand to hand, block and such. For spells, you are given the chance to use better spells, which make you advance in the skill line with bigger jumps.

Spell casting in Oblivion can be considered, good or bad when thought of different sides of it. It is not like the same way people cast spells in various games. Standing in one place, saying magical words, taking some time preparing the spell cast, and finally letting it go. Any type of spell is cast instantly in Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls. You just need like, one or two seconds to cast a spell, since all you do is making some glow in your hand and throw it forward. Even though i am contend with either way of casting these spells, some people have certain ideas about it. Most people, especially those who tend to play the game for its fantasy role playing possibilities, think that this kind of spell casting is extremely unrealistic and unnerving. As it would look silly for someone to cast spells without vocal components, or the proper talents for casting it silently. Even if he had the talent, excluding the fact that even a warrior who have not seen magic in his entire life can cast it that way, he would need some time to focus on the spell he or she is casting, and prepare it before releasing it. Otherwise, without proper preparation, the spell would either be failure or without any effect. Since spells are cast by the force of will, concentration is the most important thing, that is why you also need to stand right where you are and do not move until you cast the spells. Most unlikely, even the mobs we encounter in the Oblivion IV Elder Scrolls tend to kite us, if we happen to be melee fighting classes. They run back and send fire balls, frost bolts or lightning bolts on us, trying to keep the range. This is so stupid and annoying as it gets even harder to hit them, given the current circumstances are already impairing our chances.

Maybe the most realistic part in spellcasting of Oblivion IV, Elder Scrolls, is that the spells we cast are not that smart to follow the target we meant for them. In most other games, it does not matter if the target moves after you cast the spell. Or even that if the target is moving while you cast the spell. You just need to face the right way in one hundred and eighty degrees, and the spell you cast will be automatically send to the target of yours. Maybe it is because of that Oblivion is not a third person combat strategy game that works in selecting abilities and which targets to use those abilities we have chosen.

Oblivion Dark Brotherhood Quests Second Part

You are the assassin there. And you need to kill each of them without the other noticing it. Well the house is quite big enough for you to do it so there is not generally any problem.

Considering the fact that one cannot guess who actually killed the person behind him, when there are only us, standing right next to him with a dagger in our hand. But like every game, Oblivion also has some mistakes. After some time, we meet with Dark Brotherhood sanctuary in Cheydinhal. This place’s entrance is quite terrific either. However, the atmosphere is not the same inside. Anyway, we start to receive quests from not Lucian any more but instead, from the members of the Cheydinhal sanctuary. Unfortunately, it is somehow discovered by Lucian that the sanctuary holds a spy in it. So we have to commence a ritual of purification. Which means we need to kill everyone in the sanctuary. After doing so, we become Lucian’s silencer. He tells about the listener and speakers. Now a harder set of orders start. Lucian leaves notes in various places in the world and sends us to kill people. However, the great treachery is yet to come. It turns out that, we failed to eradicate the spy which looked as if he were one of the members of Cheydinhal sanctuary. And that clever member, has been changing our written orders, right before we take it. So we were actually killing the allies of the brotherhood. Lucian summons us, however we find his body, torn apart by speakers. Then we head to the lady to select her new listener. She says that one of the current speakers is a traitor. We kill him, and become the new listener. Quest line ends.

Now is it not awesome? After we become the new listener, we are dispatched immediately to Cheydinhal sanctuary, to be its new master. And we pick someone to be our speaker. From that point on our only concern is to visit the lady once a week and get reports of new targets. We tell them to our speaker, and we are done. It is although surprising that the fact we are doing actually way less job than the last listener, Lucian Lachance used to. However, we are just contend with that because we earn quite nice money from it without actually doing anything. As time recedes and we give new targets to our speaker, we may observe new members of the brotherhood, walking around in the sanctuary. This means that we are going to get more money on next delivery. Of course, it is good eh? So ends the quest line of Dark Brotherhood. Even that other quest lines, in my opinion, excluding the main quest, are good, the Dark Brotherhood gives a new perspective to the players of the game. And actually inspires us to be cutthroats and damned rogues! In the game of course heh! I really advise the quest line to all of the readers. Even further, i advise the whole quests of the game to the readers. It is, really a game that must be played, with all its quests.

Oblivion Dark Brotherhood Quests First Part

Maybe the most exciting quest line of the best game of 2008, Oblivion, the Dark Brotherhood quests. Unlike some other quests, such as some fighter’s guild quests who make you run the errands and fight instead of retards who cannot finish their own contracts, Dark Brotherhood quests are more focused on the individual, doing the quest. It might be considered basic and simple most of the time as you generally need to remove only one or multiple targets. However the thing that makes it good is the bonuses. Like the assassination mission bonuses there were in Godfather The Game, there are also, prerequisites and basic requisites of fulfilling a contract. You might be asked to do it not inside publicity. Maybe you need to do it inside publicity instead? Or maybe you need to hide it from some and expose to others? Who knows what Lucian Lachance is going to ask of you?

Let us see to some examples which our guy, Lucian, wants from us. Well as we all probably know, he “observes” as we commit our first murder. We get a message on top of our screens, telling something about it. Well then, right after the first time we sleep, our sleep gets interrupted. Lucian is standing right next to our bed. I actually would crap to my pants if such thing happened to me. He starts talking about how he watched us killing that guy we murdered. He says that we might be just the one that they have been looking for. So he asks if we want to be recruited. I, honestly, believed that he would kill me right there at that time if i refused, since he looks discreet, exposing himself to me and letting me live would not be that smart. So i did not try to refuse the offer. This is why i do not know what happens if we refuse. Anyway, i do not think any of you refused it either. So we all get his first quest. Proving our worth to him would need another murder. He gives us a dagger, a crap dagger for that time honestly, and sends us to some inn to kill a civilian. This one, expectedly turns out to be quite an easy assignment. Only thing we need is to be sneaky. Well, after this point, we gain his trust. Then he starts sending us around to kill people. He himself seems to be following orders. These orders are generally not orders given by a superior but a customer, more likely. So, it can be said that Dark Brotherhood is a company of assassination. People come and ask who needs to be destroyed, and we do it. Whatever, we start doing these favours for them, and get paid in advance, with money and experience. There is this quest which really helped me have fun. It is a party, and the invited guests do not know that the host hates them direly and wants them dead. Except for one. Which is you.

10 Tips For Taking Spectacular Theatrical Photos

We all have been in the enviable situation to be at a staged production or concert and wished we could take photographs of the event. But as is the case with nearly all theatrical productions, cameras are not allowed, for good reason.

The staging of a professional concert, dance production or play is copyright-protected material, so the creators seek to control the distribution of their material. These copyrights should always be followed to the letter, and unauthorized photographs of theatrical events and productions should never, ever be taken without the consent of the management who is staging the production.

These restrictions, however, can be lifted if you work directly with the producers, and are in agreement to the distribution of the images you produce. There are times though when you are attending a non-professional school production, or might be invited to bring your camera to a show. If you are interested in shooting professional or non-professional theatrical productions, here are 10 tips to produce the best possible images:

1. To obtain the proper permissions to be allowed to photograph a professional production, you need to be a professional yourself. Never approach a producer about photographing the show unless you are a professional photographer with an existing market for the photos or at a minimum, appropriate and attractive media contacts that will bring exposure to the producer’s work.

2. Bring an legitimate offer to the producer, make your permission a win-win for both parties. This might be a promise to submit the images to a particular publication. Be clear about what you want to shoot, why you want to shoot, and what you are going to do with the photos after you shoot.

3. Never try to lie your way backstage. Any professional producer has been approached hundreds of times by people just like you, most who have less than admirable intentions. Be honest about what you can do for the producer.

4. Once you gain permission from the producer, be aware of their stipulations. Review when you can shoot, where you can shoot and who you can shoot. Tell the producer your specific plans, but never let your shoot get in the way of the production.

5. Be aware of union rules. Many stage personnel, cast and orchestra members are union members, and their union contract may prevent your distribution of their image without the expressed written permission of the union.

6. Coordinate your shoot with others who will be shooting the production. If other still photographers or videographers need certain angles on the stage, discussing who will stand where before the curtain rises will prevent hurt feelings and confusion once the show begins.

7. If shooting during the actual production, never, ever block the view of a paying patron. If you are caught doing so by the producer, you can be guaranteed to never receive another invite to shoot this producer’s event again.

8. If possible, negotiate your way into a full-on dress rehearsal, and shoot without worry about blocking audience member’s line of sight to the stage.

9. Once you have finished the shoot, keep your promise to the producer and never, ever post photos to social networks or communities that were not agreed upon with the producer before the shoot. If you are explicitly told not to post to Facebook but you do anyway, and the producer sees the photos, you will never shoot for that producer again.

10. And last, but most importantly, DO NOT USE A FLASH! If you do not know how to shoot moving objects in low light conditions, do not even approach a producer to shoot ballets, operas, plays or music concerts. All of these theatrical photography assignments are lit in ways that will test even the seasoned theatrical photographer.

If you can bring something to the table when approaching a theatrical producer, and can follow your permissions to the letter, theatrical photography can be a very rewarding line of work. But my advice from 35 years of doing this kind of photography is to never, ever make promises you cannot keep to a producer, because they have seen it all. And, if your intentions is only to get backstage to be closer to the stars, do not even try to B.S. your way into a show. Even rookie producers have seen it all, and you will end up a fool without a gig. Just be honest and make the producer NEED your work.

Author and professional theatrical photographer Dan Pimentel owns an advertising agency in Oregon and has been an professional photographer since 1980. He displays galleries of his theatrical work in an online marketplace which includes Eugene Ballet Company and Fresno Grand Opera.

Medieval Kingdoms Total War

Although not quite so common as other total war games, Kingdoms Total War is an expansion pack for Medieval Total War. And it is something not known by many people. Say it Total War series cannot advertise enough, but i say they need no advertisement in their main games apart from expansion packs, it is only the expansion packs they would need advertisement. First, there have been Saxons invasion for medieval first total war, which i only saw it once or twice mentioned in some place. Then there came many expansion packs for rome total war, such as Alexander total war, Barbarian Invasion Total War, even i am sure i saw one, maybe a mod though, Napoleon total war. All these expansion packs and mods, even though they are almost as fun to play as original ones, did not receive the desired amount of popularity among gamers. Now we are going to inspect Kingdoms Total War which is an expansion pack of Medieval 2 Total War.

This, Kingdoms total war is an interesting expansion, which is in fact, a combination of different game mods, including Crusades, Americas, Britannia and Teutonic warfare. They all have different time spans, different maps and different nations who are present. Only thing in common is that they all pass in the medieval times. In Americas, there are native American tribes along with newcomer Spaniards. The map, as can be anticipated is on central America, combined with southern USA, It is about how Spaniards discovered the new world and the campaigns of them, when conquering the land. There is Teutonic Total War, which is about Teutonic Order of Germany, declaring war upon Pagan Polish people, and claiming that their lives are forfeit. So together Poland and Lithuania form an alliance to oppose the Teutonic order. There are also the Holy Roman Empire, Denmark, Russia and Norway that are present in the map and can be entered diplomatic or military relations with.

As one of two remaining mods of the expansion Medieval Two Kingdoms Total War, there we see Crusades Total War. This one has taken Anatolia and middle easy as its map including the factions which are present at the times of Crusades, which are Kingdom of Jerusalem, Egypt, Turks, Byzantine Empire, and later, Venetians. And also invasion of Mongols is not something to be ignored. During the game, other crusades are called and more reinforcements arrive for crusading factions. And last of the mods of the expansion is Britannia mod, which takes the British Islands as map only. It does not include northern France or anything. And all the nations that are present today there, are present there also but as independent nations, with addition of Norway. This, in my opinion is the most historically expanding mod of this expansion as England aims to conquer all the British islands while others trying to defend themselves. Scotland stays ignorant until the time for them comes, and they start pushing back after a certain time. When looked at generally, it is the best mod of this expansion in my opinion.

Strategy Guide For Britannia Total War

In this section i am going to explain the tactics for all the nations in Britannia Total War, what should their strategy be, how should a leader of a particular faction should act, and so on. Let us start with England. Playing the Englishmen is extremely easy, given the fact that you do hold twenty one settlement at start of the game, you are the supreme power on the map. However, holding this much settlements make you neighbours to all other factions, therefore, keeping calm politics with Scotland and Kingdom of Norway could be useful. Scotland, having good use of pikes and spears, also possessing some big settlements, can be a tough enemy when you are already fighting with Wales and Irish at the same time, which is given to you at start of the game. Even that in history, England behaved this way, they did not attack Scotland before they conquered the territories of their other enemies. Your borders with Wales is in most critical position, as from there, they can Launch an attack to your most precious cities. So you must push on them and not let them build a large army. For that, use your forts on the borders. Dealing with the Irish is quite easy, just defend your settlements in Ireland, and when they sally forth to attack, launch a simultaneous attack on all of their settlements, and try conquering them in one year, and you have advantage of turns in that. Also be careful that after some time, your city, York starts a rebellion, rebellion of Barons that are interested in taking control of the country because they are not respected enough. This uprising is not so easy to deal with but if you already dealt with Wales, this should not be a problem, so keep your hands hurry about Wales.

As starting with one Wales, you have not much options but to defend yourself until you can find proper allies, or until somehow England makes mistake of making enemies that they might not want. Such as the rebellion of the Barons. You can send a diplomat to them directly and offer to cooperate, attacking England. Even they will not prove much use, they can at least lessen the pressure on your lands so you may build an army. From time to time, England may leave some of his border settlements empty, chose those times to strike, use your forts well and fight in a guerilla style with your archers. Irish is in quite same situation too. They are already invaded by Englishmen, and must defend what they currently have first. Then follow the exact same tactics with Wales, befriending other nations that are at war with Englishmen, and capturing their settlements.

For Scotland, you should either try not to engage in war with kingdom of Norway, but in hard or very hard game options, the war with them is inevitable, so you must declare war upon them first, befriending the English meanwhile, and put an end to Norwegian existence in British islands. Then you can focus on your army and settlements once more. If you are done with Norway before England conquer Wales or Ireland, try befriending them before attacking England.

Britannia Total War

This is another mod of the expansion pack of Medieval 2 Total War called Kingdoms Total War. It is about the political issues and warfare in Britannia, between the dates 1217 and 1335. This is, generally about Scotland being conquered by the Englishmen, also Ireland and Wales, and after that, them, getting their freedom by war. You might have heard of William Wallace either from history books or the movie called Brave Heart. It comes to pass in exactly these dates, where Scotland is being conquered and a hero rises from the common folk to save Scotland. Although he fails when he lives, after him, Robert The Bruce rallies Scotland and drives the English to ruin. But that is another story.

It starts with Englishmen, in possession of England and some of Ireland only. Wales, in Wales, and Scottish in Scotland only. However, Wales do start as in war with the Englishmen, and if we look at the odds, where the English possess twenty one settlement, and Welsh does only three, it is most likely that Wales, going to be conquered by the English real soon. It is weird that Wales can be also a faction that you can choose at start of the game. But that makes it exciting for the professional total war gamers. English, is also at war with the Irish, who have scattered around Ireland as in settlements and such. However, Scotland is free of these all, holed up to north and in some way isolated from English. I do not know why but i have never seen Englishmen attacking Scotland before they completely conquer Wales and Ireland. Maybe it is that total war staff wanted to make the game really parallel with the history itself, which England does not attack Scotland before having in possession of other nations. There is also kingdom of Norway, which i at first thought to be irrelevant, however later decided to be probable upon checking history books. Kingdom of Norway is scattered in almost all the little British islands around, and have a powerful navy. Also, some time after the game start, the king of Norway embarks on the English island, and attacks Scotland. Therefore, England itself, fights with Wales and Ireland on two fronts, and Scotland fights with kingdom of Norway.

The setting of the game is in some ways unlike Medieval Total War, although it is an expansion. There are forts all around the map, which are made to indicate the little towns. But you can also use these forts as a base with defence, and only so, you cannot build anything in those forts and use them for economic purposes. Only economic bonus it may bring is depending on the town level of the province of the Fort, the fort offers free upkeep to limited number of units in it. This somehow increases the free upkeep units a province can handle. However, because of this fort system, nobles cannot build forts around the map as they wish. Good luck with the game!

Strategy Guide For Crusades Total War

Here i am going to explain the ideal national tactic for each faction in Crusades Total War. Let us assume at first you have selected Egypt Nation. It is fairly easy, since you have only one side to be attacked possibly, means you have only side that you need to push. Rally all your men into the borders with Kingdom of Jerusalem, and set all other settlement’s growth base as cultural or financial growth except keeping Gaza as a castle to provide replenishment for the frontiers and act as a bulwark against upcoming Templar hordes. If you want to play historically, get every city of Kingdom of Jerusalem, apart from Jerusalem itself. Then Help the Turks handle the principality of Antioch, then you may take Jerusalem before, if possible, the third crusade. You may let Richard to get Acre when he arrives but i doubt he will be arriving when kingdom of Jerusalem have been captured already. Furthermore, as playing Kingdom of Jerusalem, you should maintain good relations with Principality of Antioch to secure your northern borders. You already do start with nice relations with them, both trade rights, military access given, so try not to break those with any attempts of assassination or such. Help them defend themselves against Turks if they seem to have problem. And most of the time, keep your armies at south border of Egypt to fend of their assault. You can advance through their territories if you can, or maybe hinterlands as there are only rebels to be found there, but try not to share borders with Turks for they may attack you if they happen to make peace with Principality of Antioch.

The Byzantine Empire is kind of complicated, since if you can manage to get rid of the Turks early in the game, before they dominate all of Anatolia, you can handle the rest easily. Your aim should be to capture their lands, not even rebel lands in Anatolia, and then, prepare yourself in times of peace with the Catholics at holy lands, and strike when you are ready. Also keep a large army for the Venetian invasion, so you may fend them off, otherwise you would be flanking. It might be a good idea to wait for the Catholic nations to break their alliance first, before striking them.

The Turks, are by far the hardest nation to play on the map since they start in two separate locations, some land in Anatolia and some land in Mesopotamia. Ergo, you need to mess with both the Byzantine Empire and Principality of Antioch. Try defending yourself against the Byzantines while attempting to capture the rebel settlements in Anatolia, eastern Anatolia especially, to unite the two parts of your lands into one. Then you can push on Principality of Antioch once you have secured your position in Anatolia with open ways of reinforcements from Mesopotamia. When the Venetians arrive to attack Constantinople, take this opportunity to strike at Byzantine Empire, and most likely you will succeed if you make alliance with the Venetians.
